MBA graduate dies after being bitten by dog near Hosur

KRISHNAGIRI: Bitten by a dog a few days ago, a 23-year-old MBA graduate died in the Hosur govt hospital in Krishnagiri district in the early hours of Thursday without responding to treatment. The deceased has been identified as Edwin Priyan, son of Victor Babu-Antony Ammal couple of Thinnur village near Hosur. Edwin was working at a private firm near Thally. Edwin’s father said it wasn’t known when the dog bit him. “He didn’t tell us about it. He also didn’t seek medical help after the incident. On Wednesday, he started spitting around and screaming loudly. We took him to the govt primary health centre at Kakkadasam, where he received initial treatment. As his condition worsened, we took him to a private hospital in Thally area, where doctors said it was a case of dog bite and that he was showing symptoms of rabies.” Edwin’s family members took him to the govt hospital at Thally, where he was administered the rabies vaccine. “On Wednesday night, we took him to the govt hospital in Hosur. He died in the early hours of Thursday without responding to treatment,” Victor Babu said.
