Boy found hanging from tree in Kishanganj village
Patna: A 15-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide at Jhala village under Kurlikot police station area of Kishanganj district on Saturday. The boy’s body was found hanging from a tree near his house.According to police, the deceased was identified as Birju Marandi, who lived with his father, Krish Marandi. The body was recovered after receiving information from the family. A team from Kurlikot police station reached the spot and sent it to Kishanganj sadar hospital for post-mortem.Krish Marandi said he had asked his son to cut bamboo sticks for a puja earlier in the day. Birju handed over the sticks and also brought betel leafs for the ritual before leaving the house. “When I was returning after performing the puja, I saw Birju sitting at a shop near a peepal tree and asked him to come home. Around one-and-a-half hours later, family members informed me that he was found hanging from a tree near their house,” he said.Kurlikot SHO Abhishek said the reason behind the extreme step was not clear yet and it would be known after completion of the investigation. “Statements of family members will be recorded. The FSL team was called to the spot and further investigation is underway,” he said.
