Patna: The construction of Bihar Engineering University (BEU) in Mithapur has entered its final stage, with the building construction department set to complete the project by April this year. Built at a cost of Rs66.92 crore on nearly 5 acres, the university’s finishing work is currently underway and progressing on schedule, officials said.
On Saturday, secretary of the department, Kumar Ravi, said, “The construction work is nearing completion. The finishing work is ongoing, and the project will be completed soon. This will provide a strong platform for Bihar’s technical education system and bring greater transparency and efficiency in the functioning of engineering institutions and academic standards,” he said.

The main university building has been developed as a multi-storey structure equipped with modern facilities. The dean’s office is located on the ground floor, along with the registrar’s office, storeroom, cafeteria, finance office, double-height entry area, and washrooms, ensuring convenient access for students, faculty, and staff.
The first floor houses the meeting hall, vice chancellor (VC) office, and an evaluation centre.
The second floor includes seven office rooms, one evaluation centre, six storerooms, and four scanning rooms. The third floor has been designated for additional store and scanning rooms, along with five record rooms.
The fourth floor accommodates another evaluation centre, two large halls, a guest house, and caretaker accommodation. Officials said the university is being equipped with modern technologies and that the construction is being completed with a focus on quality and adherence to timelines.
