Bhagwat to address training camp, review organisational activities in Munger

Patna: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Patna on Sunday on a four-day visit to Bihar with a focus on organisational reviews, ideological guidance and interactions with volunteers as part of the RSS centenary year celebrations.

Bhagwat was received at Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport by CM Samrat Choudhary. It was the first time in Bihar that a CM personally received the RSS chief at the airport, a development political observers described as carrying significant symbolism.

Senior RSS functionaries, including Kshetra Pracharak Ramnavami Prasad, Kshetra Karyavah Mohan Singh and Kshetra Prachar Pramukh Rajesh Pandey, were also present to welcome the Sarsanghchalak.

“Bhagwat later went to the historic town Munger, where he would be participating in the ongoing ‘Karyakarta Vikas Varg’ (Volunteer Development Camp), which has been active since May 24. The Sarsanghchalak will stay in Munger for the next three days till June 10,” Abhishek Kumar, the Sangh’s Prant Prachar Pramukh (Dakshin Bihar), told TOI over the phone on Sunday.

The main events are being held at the Saraswati Vidya Mandir campus in Puraniganj, Munger. Bhagwat is scheduled to leave Munger on June 10, Abhishek said.

During his stay, Bhagwat will provide training, mentorship and ideological guidance to around 400 RSS volunteers from Bihar and Jharkhand, an RSS functionary said.

Tight security arrangements have been put in place in Patna and Munger in view of the visit. A senior police officer said high-level administrative coordination and enhanced security measures had been deployed in both districts because of Bhagwat’s Z+ security cover.
