Patna: As Basant Panchmai (on January 26 this year) is said to mark the departure of winter season, so has been the indications of changing weather conditions. The biting cold condition is gradually ending as minimum and maximum temperatures in most parts of the state are being recorded above 10 and 20 degrees C, respectively.The lowest night time or minimum temperature was recorded at 9 degrees C at Kishanganj, while the maximum temperature was recorded 23 degrees C at Ziradei in Siwan district. Light rainfall occurred at isolated places in south-western parts of the state over the last 24 hours. Patna Meteorological Centre on Monday said one or two places in south-western parts of the state may witness light rainfall over the next 24 hours. The weathermen have forecasted dry weather conditions thereafter. Besides, mercury is expected to rise further by two to three notches in 48 hours.Neha Kumari, an official at Patna centre, said light to moderate fog is likely in western and southern parts of the state over the next two days. “The minimum temperature in the state is likely to increase by two to three notches over the next 48 hours and no significant change is expected over the subsequent three days,” she said.
While mercury is gradually moving north, foggy conditions continue to be witnessed at many places in the state. Dense fog was witnessed at Gaya, while light to moderate fog was witnessed at Patna, Purnia, Darbhanga, Supaul and Sabour in the morning hours on Monday.
