They are rich in vitamin A, and studies even suggest they are rich in antioxidants such as anthocyanins and carotenoids, which help neutralize free radicals, reduce oxidative stress, and may lower the risk of chronic diseases like cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes. Take a look at these sweet potato dishes you can make for a wholesome Sunday lunch.

This is one of the most popular sweet potato dishes. Boiled and mashed sweet potatoes are spiced with chili powder, onion, salt, and pepper, then stuffed into wheat flour dough, rolled into parathas, cooked in ghee and served with curd and pickle.

This is for all the chatpata lovers: simply toss boiled sweet potato dices with salt, pepper, lemon juice, chaat masala, curd, chutneys, and top it with sev and pomegranate seeds.

This is a one-pot meal, where soaked rice is cooked along with a tempering of oil, bay leaf, mace, cumin, black pepper, and sweet potato dices. The pulao is spiced with garam masala and is best served with boondi raita and papad.

This is a South Indian-style sabzi, where sweet potato cubes are sauteed in a tempering of mustard seeds and curry leaves and cooked along with roasted peanuts.

This is a wholesome dish, where roasted sweet potato is simmered in vegetable broth along with spices like paprika, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes.

To make this, mash boiled sweet potato, add besan, onion, ginger, garlic, and spices to it, shape into kebabs, cook in ghee on a tawa, and serve it with hot flaky parathas, made with wheat flour, salt, and ajwain dough.

This is an aromatic treat, where grated sweet potatoes are cooked in ghee and then flavoured with milk, sugar, cardamom, and nuts.
