Aryan wins interschool debate
PATNA: Aryan Raj of Dr D Y Patil Pushpalata Patil International School emerged the winner of interschool debate competition organized on its campus on Wednesday. The topic of the debate was ‘Children should help their parents in household chores’. The second position was shared by Aliya Pervez of Scholars Abode School (SAS) and Anshika Munshi of Open Minds A Birla School (OMABS) whereas Sarthak Kapoor of Bradford International School bagged the third prize.

Consolation prizes were given to Roshni of SRBM Public School, Sakshi Kumari of SAS and Priya Ranjan of OMABS. The prizes were given by school director Dr CB Singh.
Cleanliness drive: More than 80 students of the NSS unit of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna participated in a Swacchta Pakhwada event on Wednesday. Students visited various wards of the city to make residents aware of the importance of having a toilet at home. People of the locality appreciated their efforts. Prof Kamini Sinha, programme coordinator, said, “We know the importance of having a toilet in a house. This event is not only to make public aware about it but also to teach students to become a good citizen.”
AMUOBA: Altogether 150 students from Class VI to X from city schools participated in an interschool essay writing competition organized by Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association of Bihar (AMUOBA) at Tiny Tots High School on Wednesday. The topic of the competition was ‘Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’. AMUOBA (Bihar) secretary Dr Arshad S Haque said, “The objective of organizing the essay writing competition was to make the new generation aware of the life and contribution of Syed Ahmad.” Dr A H Kazmi, Sarwat Nadim, Mosheer Alam, Nadim Seraj and Laeeq Ahmad were among the others were present on the occasion. The winners would be awarded prizes on Sir Syed Day on October 17 at Haj Bhawan.
