AI to transform sports governance: Shreyashi
During a recent conference at the Central University of South Bihar, Sports Minister Shreyashi Singh passionately discussed how artificial intelligence could transform the landscape of sports. She highlighted AI's capabilities in scouting talent, tracking athletic performance, and managing injuries more effectively.
Patna: State sports minister Shreyashi Singh on Saturday said artificial intelligence (AI)-based technologies can improve talent identification, performance tracking and injury management systems in sports.Inaugurating a three-day national conference on “Artificial intelligence in sports science, healthcare and ethics”, organised by the department of physical education at Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) in Gaya, she said modern sports governance must integrate scientific research, digital innovation and ethical responsibility to prepare athletes of international excellence. She encouraged young researchers and students to use AI as a tool for nation-building and advancement in sports.

Appreciating the initiative of CUSB in organising a conference on such a futuristic and impactful theme, she said Bihar is actively promoting sports development and encouraging young sporting talent.CUSB vice-chancellor Kameshwar Nath Singh said AI is no longer a futuristic concept but a present-day necessity transforming sports performance analysis, athletes’ health monitoring and academic research methodologies.
He said universities must adopt emerging technologies responsibly and ethically, ensuring that innovation aligns with human values and national development goals.Banaras Hindu University (BHU) arts faculty dean Sushma Ghildiyal highlighted the interdisciplinary relevance of AI in education, humanities and sports sciences. She stressed the importance of ethical awareness while integrating AI into research and pedagogy.Pt RaviShankar Shukla University’s students’ welfare dean Rajeev Choudhary delivered the keynote address on “From databases to decisions: AI-enabled bibliometric and meta-analysis in sports and health sciences.” Other speakers who shared their views included Nishant Singh, Abhimanyu Singh and Sanjeev Mandar. Conference director Ravi Kaant proposed the vote of thanks.
