Nashik: Lalit Kohle of Shiv Sena, who has been behind bars for over three months in connection with the case of operating a fake call centre from his farmhouse in Jalgaon, got elected from Ward 11(D) of the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation. His son, Piyush Kolhe, and mother, Sindhu Kolhe, who contested the election from different wards of Jalgaon city, also got elected.On the other hand, former RPI (A) corporator Prakash Londhe from Nashik's Satpur, who has been in jail since Oct 2025, in connection with the case of attempt to murder and extortion, was defeated from Ward 11 (D). Londhe secured 4,669 votes, as against the winning candidate of BJP, Nitin Nigal, who bagged 6,685 votes. His daughter-in-law, Diskha Deepak Londhe, also contesting on the RPI (A) ticket from Ward 11(A) in Satpur, also lost the election.A former mayor of Jalgaon city, Lalit Kolhe has been in judicial custody ever since his arrest after the raid on his farmhouse on Sept 28, 2025. After the elections were announced, Kolhe had completed the legal procedures to file his nomination. His family members campaigned for him across the ward.
The Kolhe family won with enormous margins. Lalit Kolhe, who secured 6,157 votes won by a margin of 4,213, defeating his closest rival Sunil Patil, an independent who got only 1,944 votes. Sindhu Kolhe (Ward 11-C) secured 7,313 votes and won by a margin of 4,329 votes. Piyush Kolhe's victory margin in Ward 4D was over 6,977 votes. He had secured overall 9,548 votes.Speaking to reporters in Jalgaon, Piyush Kolhe said the victory is not only for the Kolhe family, but also for the voters who retained trust in them.Lalit Kolhe's wife, Sarita Kolhe, said the blessings of people crossed the jail walls to reach Lalit Kolhe. She also thanked deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde for putting trust in Lalit Kohle's work and his family, and for giving them the opportunity to contest on the party ticket.The Kolhe family won with enormous margins.
