Singers pay fitting tribute to musician Ravindra Jain

NAGPUR: Singers regaled the audience by presenting hit songs of musician Ravindra Jain as a tribute at a concert titled ‘Sun Ke Teri Pukar’ at Suresh Bhat Sabhagruh on Monday.

The event was conceptualized by Sunil Gajbhiye and presented by Gourang Production, Mumbai. Veteran playback singer and five times Filmfare award nominee Hemlata was the special attraction at the show.

The show started with ‘Mangal bhavan’ and ‘Marhaba sayyedi’ by Goldy Humne, Manish Rai and Rizwan Sabri, followed by ‘Chitthiye pankh’ by Swastika Thakur. Raju Vyas sang ‘Geet gata chal’. Asha Bhosle’s ‘Saathi re bhul na’ was beautifully presented by Parvathi Nair. She also presented songs like ‘Mai hu khushrang henna’ and ‘Kon disa me leke’.

Hemlata shared many anecdotes while singing for Jain and said it was a fulfilling experience. ‘Sun ke teri pukar’ and ‘Akhiyon ke jharoke se’, sung by Hemlata, were among the best of the nite.

Manish Rai regaled the audience with Kishore Kumar’s ‘Har haseen cheez ka’ and ‘Ghungroo ki tarah’.

The playlist included hits like ‘Sun sahiba sun’ by Suchita, who also presented ‘Sajna hai mujhe’. Anil Sirsat teamed up with Swastika to present ‘Le jayenge le jayenge’. Gajbhiye gave a stellar performance on ‘Aaj se pehele’.

The special guests were singers Anil Khobragade and Mohammad Hafeez. They enthralled the crowd with famous songs like ‘Jaate huye ye pal’ , ‘Nazar aati nahi manzil’ and ‘Ek daal par tota bole’.

The accompanying artistes were Arvind Upadhyay (flute), Mahendra

Dhole

and Vedhansh Jadhav (keyboard), Aparna Chokhandre (guitar) and Sunil Chavhan (octopad).

The programme was compèred by Jyoti Bhagat and Rekha Chowdhary.
