Nagpur: Paschim Nagpur Bangiya Samiti (PNBS) has begun its annual
Durga Puja festivities with the traditional Khunti Puja, held on August 31 at Sai Vatika Lawn, near Shankar Nagar. The sacred ritual, considered the formal commencement of Durga Puja preparations, marks the symbolic installation of the first bamboo (khunti) that supports the puja pandal.
Khunti Puja not only signifies the spiritual beginning but also sets the tone for weeks of cultural, devotional, and festive activities. Members and devotees gathered in large numbers to seek blessings of Maa Durga, praying for peace, prosperity, and well-being.
This year, the main Durga Puja celebrations will be organized from September 28 to October 2 at Sai Vatika Lawn. The Samiti has extended an open invitation to devotees across Nagpur to participate in the five-day celebrations, which promise devotional rituals, cultural performances, and community bonding.
PNBS president Jayanta Bose, secretary Anjan Biswas, and treasurer Karan Mukherjee expressed hope that Maa Durga's blessings will bring joy to every home.
