Nagpur: As the ‘winter capital' gears up for the winter session of the Maharashtra legislature, various renovations and repairs are underway at the Vidhan Bhavan, Ravi Bhavan, MLA quarters, and Hyderabad House.
Divisional Commissioner Vijaylakshmi Bidari held a review meeting held on Tuesday and instructing respective department heads and officials for regular inspection and supervision of meals for the two-week period, reserving hospital beds in both govt and private hospitals, beautification work, and road repairs, among other instructions during the session.
Bidari gave a deadline of 8 days to the Public Works Department to complete the renovations. Daily maintenance supplies, computers, furniture, and workforce planning by the concerned departments were also mentioned during the meeting. In the case of protests, marches, and hunger strikes during the session, the police department, in cooperation with the concerned departments, was asked to appoint a nodal officer for the same.
The Women and Child Welfare Department was tasked with ensuring the readiness of the Hirakani Kendra (facility for women and children). As directed by Bidari, respective ministries must provide the necessary infrastructure for e-office operations, and all related details should be accessible via a mobile app. Over a thousand vehicles from the state's revenue departments will be used, with the transport department responsible for inspecting their condition.
The meeting was attended by collector Vipin Itankar, deputy commissioner Rajlakshmi Shah, and senior officials from various departments including revenue, police, health, municipal corporation, food and drug administration, and regional transport.
