Koradi Hanuman statue to open for devotees in June
Nagpur: The 162-foot-tall Hanuman statue at Koradi, claimed to the tallest in Central India, is likely to be inaugurated in June in the presence of Union home minister Amit Shah, revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on Tuesday.The statue has been erected on the premises of Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Sansthan at Koradi. Including its foundation, the structure stands 206 feet tall from the base, while the mace (gada) carried by the statue measures 74 feet.The upcoming attraction will include a "7D Hanuman Chalisa Projection" experience aimed at offering devotees an immersive experience. Episodes from the life of Lord Hanuman will also be showcased beneath the statue through visual installations and thematic displays.The larger development plan includes a Ramayana cultural centre, Bharat Mata Mandapam, adventure park, kids' zone, boating facility and extensive landscaping, including a proposed butterfly garden. A hostel for 500 students, educational facilities for nearly 800 students, an e-library with around three lakh books and healthcare facilities are also part of the project.Bawankule said the state govt has granted administrative approval of 214.94 crore for the integrated pilgrimage site development plan. Development works are being carried out through the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) and Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA). He expressed confidence the project would boost tourism in Koradi and surrounding areas.
