Innovator Rahul Pethe Urges Students to Turn Ideas into Enterprises
Nagpur: Innovator and entrepreneur Rahul Pethe urged young minds to move beyond discussions and focus on execution while addressing an inter-school and inter-college Tech Sanskruti hackathon organised at Nutan Bharat Vidyalaya on Friday.Emphasising action-oriented thinking, Pethe urged students to transform ideas into enterprises and use hackathons as platforms to innovate, build practical solutions and create a lasting impact.
Pethe encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship early, stating that innovation combined with discipline and execution can lead to meaningful change. He cautioned against excessive dependence on mobile phones, drawing an analogy from Mahatma Gandhi's concept of the three monkeys. Pethe remarked that overuse of technology has turned people into a "fourth monkey," disrupting the balance of seeing, hearing and speaking wisely. He advised students to adopt technology responsibly while preserving cultural values and ethical grounding. The hackathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from 19 teams representing various schools and colleges across Nagpur. Each team comprised more than five students, making it a vibrant inter-school and inter-college competitive platform. Participants showcased innovative ideas, problem-solving skills, and teamwork, reflecting the city's growing interest in technology-driven learning.Alongside the hackathon, a "Sanskruti Darshan" exhibition was organised, featuring 18 teams that presented models and concepts highlighting India's cultural heritage. The exhibition, combined with science model displays, aimed to blend innovation with cultural awareness, reinforcing the message that progress and tradition can go hand in hand. Both the hackathon and Sanskriti Darshan events were categorised class-wise to ensure fair competition. Groups were divided into four categories: Classes 5 to 7, Classes 8 to 10, Classes 11 and 12, and college-level participants. All participants hailed from Nagpur-based schools and colleges, underlining the local academic community's active involvement.Prize distribution was conducted category-wise, recognising talent and effort at every academic level. Winners were applauded for their creativity, technical understanding, and presentation skills, while all participants were encouraged to continue innovating.
