Nagpur: Amid rising global conflicts and growing tendencies of division, Union minister
Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said ancient Indian culture, values and philosophy can serve as a guiding light for the world. He was speaking at the inauguration of a Vedic Pathshala set up by the Soham Foundation in Ghogali.
Emphasising need to revive India's Vedic heritage, Gadkari said knowledge of the four Vedas — Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda and Atharvaveda — forms foundation of Indian thought, ethics and one of the world's oldest bodies of literature.
"Our culture speaks not just of individual or family welfare, but of the welfare of entire world," he said, underlining the inclusive philosophy of Sanatan Dharma.
Referring to global unrest, Gadkari noted that at a time when destructive tendencies are visible across nations, India's civilisational values rooted in harmony and coexistence offer a meaningful alternative. He also cited
Swami Vivekananda's Chicago address as a defining example of India's pluralistic ethos, which respects all faiths and beliefs.
