MYSURU: The city police on Sunday said heightened vigil coupled with patrolling has ensured that the New Year celebrations were incident free.

The visibility of police across the city was very high starting from Saturday evening. The celebrations were carried out strictly adhering to our guidelines, DCP (L&O) M Mutturaj said. He adding that it has helped the police to ensure that the celebrations were free of any incident.

Normally, on the first day of the New Year, police used to get complaints about accidents both minor and fatal ones and rash driving. But this year, we didn’t get even a single complaint, explained Mutturaj.

There were no complaints of chain snatching or theft too, he added.
