Boundary dispute over cemetery land in Chikkabettageri resolved

Madikeri: The long-standing boundary dispute over cemetery land in Chikkabettageri village has been resolved.Officials from Guddehosur gram panchayat, the land survey department, and the revenue and forest department jointly inspected the site and successfully carried out the work of identifying the boundaries, which was done scientifically.
The govt sanctioned 0.13 acres in Survey No 1/1 of Chikkabettageri village for a cemetery. However, since this land was adjacent to forest land, there were technical problems in identifying the exact boundary. Due to this, the villagers faced objections from the forest department.The officials, who decided to resolve the problem permanently, visited the site and conducted a joint survey. The long-standing demand of the villagers was fulfilled by measuring the 0.13 acres reserved for the cemetery as per official govt documents, separating it from the forest land, and identifying the exact boundaries.The survey process, held in the presence of the officials, went smoothly, and the boundary identification of the graveyard land was successfully completed.On this occasion, Guddehosur gram panchayat development officer MR Sumesh, administrative officer Santosh and Sonu, survey department officer Ravi, forest department officer Devaiah, social welfare department Ravi, gram panchayat secretary Kumaraswamy, panchayat staff, village leaders, and villagers were present.Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with Women's day wishes, messages and quotes !
