Politician had shielded road rage accused in earlier crime

KALYAN: The accused Jayesh Dongare arrested for killing pathologist Mayur Mehta in a road rage case in Kalyan was earlier too involved in a criminal act. It was found that one month ago he had attacked a youth badly due to which victim had to be hospitalized. However, due to intervention by a local senior Sena leader no case was registered against Dongare.
Now the locals who aware about case claims that if leader had not helped Dongare for vote bank then it might be possibility that accused could had served jail and had not repeated the offense.
The accused Dongare, a resident of Rambaug in Kalyan(west) was on his way to Kala Talao around 6pm on Saturday with two of his friends-all three were on the same bike-when pathologist Mehta's schooter allegedly scraped his bike near Santoshi Mata bridge. Dongare over the petty issue overtook Mehta and got in to argument with him and later got off his bike and whipped out small knife from his pocket and stabbed Mehta.
Dongare's both friends tried to stop him, but he did not listen them and after stabbing then fled from on foot, leaving his friend behind with his bike.
The incident shocked to the entire city as Dongare's killed Mehta for minor issue but locals who knew Dongare claimed that if Dongare's could have been punished for his small crime in past he might have not repeated the offense.
When asked about matter Sunil Dhanawade, police Inspector of Mahatma Phule Police station said there was no past criminal case against him.
A Dongare's neighbour do not wished to be named claimed that Dongare is member of local road romes who stand near Tal bar chowck near Chaya talkies in Kalyan where they passes lewd comments to girls passing from road.
He even claimed that several time he beaten up many locals over petty issue but last one and half month before he had attack youth who had suffered serious injuries but accused he had locals road romeos support who is associated with Sena party due to which local Sena leader interfered in matter and made settlement between victim and Dongare due to which case was not registered against him.
Another side Mehta's friend have appealed politicians to do not help such criminal nature's youth because due to their help they becomes hard core criminals and commit crime like Dongare had committed.
