Mumbai student bags 96th rank in NEET

MUMBAI: Manav Shah, from Malad, has bagged an all-India rank of 96 in the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) results declared on Friday. Shah, who has been preparing for NEET for last two years, was expecting a rank in the top 100 and now is also hoping to be in the top five ranks in the state. Shah is one of the high scorers from the city.

, following a petition filed in the Madras high court. With the results finally out, Shah, a student of the integrated programme at

Prakash College

, Kandivali, is now looking forward to a speedy admission process. "I am hoping to get into KEM and do a specialisation in cardiology in future," said Shah. He is the first from his family to get into medicine. Shah said that students should focus on hard work as there is no substitute to that.

The CBSE is yet to release the state merit lists, which will help in conducting admissions in state's medical and dental colleges. Abhishek Dogra, who bagged an all-India rank of 5, is the topper from the state. Only one student from the state made it to the top 25 ranks released by the CBSE.
