FIR against seven in Mumbai for claiming to cure illnesses through miracles
Mumbai: Malad Police registered an FIR against seven persons based on a complaint given by a homemaker that they were claiming to cure illnesses through a miracle. An FIR was registered under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013.
According to the complaint, a group of women visited the complainant’s home on May 8. She told them that she suffered from hypothyroid and hypertension. The women told her to join them at an event on May 10 and pray to get rid of her illnesses.
On May 10, the complainant sent her son to the event. He saw a group of people claiming to cure illnesses through a miracle. He tried to film them but was unsuccessful and later dialled the police emergency number '100.'
