Father-son duo held for Rs 3 crore cheating case at Oshiwara

MUMBAI: A father-son duo was arrested by the Oshiwara police in a Rs 3 crore

cheating

case on Sunday. The accused have been identified as Ayub, 55, and Yasir Kapadia, 28.


The complainant is a Surat resident. The duo had promised to transfer two flats and a bungalow in his name. They met him in Oshiwara and took Rs 3 lakh from him. But the complainant later realised that the documents were forged and lodged a police complaint against the duo in Surat.

Later, the duo was also booked in another case at Gurugram Police Station at Haryana for duping a non banking financial company of Rs 70 lakh. They were nabbed by the Haryana police from Surat but fled from their custody.

"On Saturday, we got a tip off about their presence in a hotel at

South Mumbai

and the duo were nabbed from there," said an officer from Oshiwara police station.
