MEERUT: A car belonging to a wedding procession caught fire after a guest carelessly burst firecrackers through its sunroof in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district.
The incident occurred when the marriage procession was leaving Gandevda village for Dehradun on Tuesday night.
Two young men were caught in the flames but were rescued when the groom's brother, Mohd Javed, pulled them to safety whilst protecting himself with a jacket.
A mobile phone recording of the rescue was shared widely on social media platforms.
SP (rural) Sagar Jain stated, "On the basis of the video, we have issued a challan against the owner of the vehicle - Mohd Usman - under Motor Vehicle Act and the car has been seized."
