Meerut: Food safety department has intensified raids across Moradabad after a social media video flagged improper packaging and suspected adulteration of dates at Majhola Mandi Samiti, officials said.With Ramzan driving peak demand, enforcement teams raided warehouses and shops, seizing misbranded stocks from leading outlets at New Mandi Samiti. Officers found dates without mandatory batch numbers, packing dates and expiry labels — clear violations of food safety norms — ready for sale."Suspicious samples have been collected and sent for laboratory testing. Supply-chain documents are being examined. Prima facie packaging irregularities were found, and further action will depend on lab results," said Rajvansh Srivastava, assistant commissioner, food safety.The administration has also launched awareness drives, deploying mobile lab-testing vans at busy intersections and schools to ensure food purity.
