26yo man shot dead in Bijnor village; ‘love affair’ suspected

Bijnor: A 26-year-old man was found shot dead in a field in Julahpura village under Nagina Dehat police station limits on Wednesday morning, with police suspecting a possible love affair angle behind the murder.

Circle officer Rajesh Singh Solanki said Anuj Kumar had a gunshot wound to his head. “His motorcycle and mobile phone were recovered nearby, which helped us confirm his identity,” he said.

Anuj’s mother, Vimla Devi, has accused a woman and her husband of killing her son. She alleged that the woman had trapped Anuj in a relationship and repeatedly demanded money. “When he refused, they had earlier filed a case against him,” she said.

According to Vimla, Anuj had called her on Tuesday evening about an argument with the woman shortly before his death. Police have registered a case and launched a probe.
