Bijnor: Two men in their 40s have been arrested for allegedly forging bail documents to secure the release of an undertrial accused in an attempt to murder case lodged in Bijnor district jail, police said on Thursday.According to Kotwali police, Ram Singh, Prem Singh and advocate Narendra Singh allegedly conspired to fabricate bail papers for Shehzad Ahmed, 35, jailed under charges of attempt to murder case and the Arms Act."The three accused prepared forged surety documents using fake official seals of the SHO, lekhpal and tehsildar. Ram and Prem posed as guarantors, while Narendra facilitated the process. A case was registered against them in March 2024 following a complaint by Mukesh Kumar, a clerk at the ACJM court," said SP Abhishek Jha.Ram and Prem were arrested from their respective villages, Syau and Jalilpur, on Wednesday after being on the run for nearly two years. They have been sent to jail on charges of cheating and forgery. Further investigation is underway, police said.
