Second Mangalore Open Shooting Championship from May 26
Mangaluru: The Mangalore Rifle Club has announced the Second Mangalore Open Shooting Championship 2026, in which participants from all over India will take part. The championship is scheduled to be held from May 26 to 30 at the Mangalore Rifle Club, Kadri, and finals at US Mallya Indoor Stadium.
This championship aims to bring together shooting enthusiasts from across the country, promote the sport at the grassroots level, and provide a competitive platform for aspiring shooters. The event is expected to witness participation from over 600 shooters, making it one of the largest shooting events in the region.
A major highlight of the championship is the participation of international-level shooters from Karnataka, who will also be felicitated during the event, inspiring young and upcoming athletes, the club stated.
Special importance is being given to the Indian armed forces, with shooting athletes from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force invited to participate. A separate dedicated event will be conducted to recognize and honour their excellence and contribution to the sport.
The championship is being organized with the objective of strengthening the culture of shooting sports in Mangaluru, and encouraging emerging talent to excel at national and international levels. Extensive arrangements are being made to ensure a high-quality competition experience for all participants.
