Person booked for spreading hate through social media

MANGALURU: A man has been

booked

for

spreading communal hate

through fake social media accounts. A case has been registered at the Moodbidri police station limits by entrepreneur Abdul Lathif, in this regard.

According to police, accused Ibrahim Khaleel from Murali village in Sullia, who currently works in Abu Dhabi, had opened several fake profiles on Facebook, through which he used to post communally provocative posts. Fed up over his spreading hatred in this manner, Abdul came forward and filed a complaint.

Khaeel, through one of his fake accounts which was named as Devdas Dalit, used to send obscene message to Muslim youth, and would post against religious leaders too. The accused ,who belongs to the

Salafi

sect, was also involved in insulting religious leaders from other Muslim sects. His identity was unravelled by some of the religious leaders whom he was making derogatory posts against, after which he threatened these leaders .

In his fake profile, he also misused pictures of others, and would also forward such messages through WhatsApp.
