DCC serves show-cause notice on Cong Minority Wing president
Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) served a show cause notice on Saturday to Shahul Hameed KK, district president of the Congress Minority Wing, for anti-party activities. In the notice, served by DCC general secretary TD Vikash Shetty on behalf of DCC, president Harish Kumar, Shahul Hameed was directed to submit his reply within seven days, explaining why he should not be suspended from the party."You are aware of the fact that people in Dakshina Kannada are anxious after the murder of Abdul Rahiman. Being in a responsible position in the party, it is your responsibility to instil confidence among party workers, especially the minority community. Senior party leaders requested you not to take any hasty decisions and assured that the govt will find solutions. However, you convened a meeting of the party leaders from the minority. News reports suggest that you plan to orchestrate resignations of minority community leaders from the party. This development has put the party in an awkward situation at the national level," reads the show-cause notice. The district leadership demanded clarification from Shahul Hameed regarding his actions that violated party discipline. The DCC also served a show-cause notice on former mayor K Ashraf for issuing a statement asking party workers not to meet district minister Dinesh Gundu Rao during his meetings on Saturday.
