Cong to hold silent protest over Masood, Fazil murders

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) minority cell president Shahul Hameed said that the minority wing of the Congress will stage a silent protest in front of Kudmul Ranga Rao town hall in Mangaluru on September 20, condemning the discriminatory policy of the state government in handling the murders of Masood B of Bellare and Mahammed Fazil of Mangalapete.Hameed told reporters here on Friday, that the government has handed over the investigation into the death of Nettaru to the NIA, while two other murders have been taken lightly by the police. “The state government has also shown disparity while disbursing compensation to the kin of murder victims in Dakshina Kannada. The families of Masood and Fazil were ignored, while compensation was announced for the kin of Nettaru,” he said.
