Class 12 CBSE results: NEET-UG worries dim result-day cheer in Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru: Despite 100% pass results in several CBSE schools, class 12 result day in Dakshina Kannada passed without the usual celebrations as uncertainty over NEET-UG and dissatisfaction with marks weighed on students.

The cancellation of NEET-UG amid allegations of a paper leak left medical aspirants anxious and distracted.

Even students who secured good scores remained focused on preparing for NEET rather than celebrating, said a school principal, adding that the disruption had deeply affected them.

Students were also unhappy with their board exam scores. Rev Fr Rohan D’Almeida, principal, St Aloysius Gonzaga School, said dissatisfaction was particularly linked to the introduction of online evaluation for CBSE Class 12 for the first time, and that a majority of students were planning to apply for re-evaluation.

Schools record 100% pass results

Most schools across Dakshina Kannada recorded 100% results. Lourdes Central School posted a 100% pass rate in the CBSE Grade 12 examinations held in Febr-March 2026. Of the 89 students who appeared, 46 secured distinction and 32 passed with first class.

St Aloysius Gonzaga School also recorded a 100% pass result, with all 28 students clearing the examination. Five students secured distinction with 85% and above, while 23 achieved first class.

All 40 students at Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 Panambur passed the examination. Mount Carmel Central School also achieved a 100% pass rate, with Dheeksha N topping the school with 94.2%, followed by Avaneesh Chaturvedi with 93.2%.
