BJP MPs who protested LPG price hike during UPA tenure missing: DCC
Mangaluru: There is a nationwide crisis due to the lack of regulation on cooking gas cylinders in the country. Despite these issues, the central govt claimed there was sufficient LPG stock in the country, but it must clarify why the supply of commercial cylinders was reduced, questioned Harish Kumar, president of the DK District Congress Committee (DCC).
At a press conference on Friday, the Congress leader said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was allegedly dancing to America's tune, which was affecting the country's independence. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is allegedly aligning with the US president Donald Trump's policies. A recent example is the conditional agreement to purchase crude oil from Russia every 30 days," he said, and condemned America's strategy of suddenly declaring war on small countries and attacking them.
The West Asia crisis is causing significant anxiety and setbacks. In such a situation, Prime Minister Modi's dual stance is causing the country's situation to deteriorate. During the UPA govt's tenure, Union minister Shobha Karandlaje protested against LPG price hikes, but now she is nowhere to be seen. There is a shortage of commercial LPG cylinders, severely impacting every business. The essential services maintenance act (ESMA) was implemented nationwide, and essential goods are facing issues. Thousands of hotels are on the verge of closing, and small hotels are already struggling, said Kumar.
"Whenever PM Modi travels abroad, he plans for the growth of Adani and Ambani's businesses. He does not care about the general public. The value of one dollar rose to Rs 92.35. The country's economic condition deteriorated, and Modi's administration is causing India to bow its head before the world," he added.
MUDA chairman Sadashiva Ullal, DCC vice-president Subhodaya Alva, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, and others were present.
