Amarnath yatra: Pilgrims from Bantwal safe

Mangaluru: About 30 pilgrims from Bantwal who went for the Amarnath yatra are safe. The cloudburst has not posed any problem for them, said a member of the team. “We are safe. We were not affected due to the cloudburst. The armed forces are helping us. We are just 28 km away from the Amarnath cave temple,” said Suresh Kotian, who is a part of the group of pilgrims.

The pilgrims are in constant touch with Devdas Shetty of the Bantwal Urban Development Authority (BUDA) and Bantwal MLA U Rajesh Naik. The team hopes to complete the Amarnath yatra before returning home.

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V has appealed to the relatives of pilgrims, to contact control room 1077, and share any information about the pilgrims.
