Sivaganga: A policeman was arrested after a 27-year-old man was killed when a CRPF escort vehicle in the convoy of

Edappadi K Palaniswami collided with his two-wheeler on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Arumugam of Madagupatti.
Police said the incident took place shortly after Palaniswami concluded an election campaign near Sivaganga Palace entrance. As the convoy was heading towards Pudukottai for the next scheduled event, Arumugam was heading to a temple on his two-wheeler. As he was nearing Kallal junction road, the CRPF escort vehicle attached to the rear end of the security convoy collided head-on with his two-wheeler, causing him a serious head injury.
Police shifted him to Sivaganga Govt Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead. Madagupatti police registered a case, and arrested the driver of the escort vehicle, Kalanithi, attached to Sivaganga armed reserve, and further investigation is underway.
