Two killed in head-on collision near Kovilpatti
Tuticorin: Two people were killed on the spot in a head-on collision between two two-wheelers on the Kovilpatti–Ettayapuram road late on Sunday night.
Police said Arunpandiyan was riding from Ilampuvanam towards Kovilpatti, while Subburaj, who had come to Kovilpatti earlier, was returning to his native place.
When both motorcycles reached near a private petrol bunk, the vehicles collided head-on, killing both riders instantly due to severe head injuries.
Police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies, and sent them to Kovilpatti govt hospital for autopsy.
A case has been registered by Nallattinpudur police. Further investigation is under way.
