The petitioner stated that the Othakadai–Thirumohur Road state highway is a busy road on all days. He stated that the integrated registration office, the popular Thirumohur Perumal temple, hospitals, and hotels are situated on the road stretch.
Since it is a busy road stretch, people, especially school-going children, face difficulties crossing the road at the Thirumohur Road junction. Due to lack of speed breakers, vehicles travel at high speed, posing a threat to people who are waiting to cross the road.
The petitioner stated that, on behalf of the residents of the locality, he submitted a representation to the authorities seeking to put up speed breakers at a suitable location and to install CCTV cameras at the Thirumohur Road junction. However, no steps were taken so far. Hence, the petitioner moved court seeking relief.
