Madurai police take up voter awareness rally
Madurai: The Madurai city police held a two-wheeler rally from the Armed Forces ground on Saturday morning to raise public awareness about maintaining law and order so as to ensure safe and fair conduct of the upcoming assembly elections, security of voters and 100% fear-free voting experience.Apart from encouraging voters to participate in the elections on April 23, the rally sent a message to the voters guaranteeing a safe voting experience. It was inaugurated by district collector K J Praveen Kumar and city police commissioner J Loganathan. Police officers from law and order, crime, traffic, and armed forces divisions participated in the rally.As per the directions of district superintendent of police B K Arvind, flag parades were also held near the Kallikudi police station, Odapatti, Chinnapatti and Peikulam Avalsuranpatti under the limits of the Thirumangalam police sub-division, encouraging the public to ensure a 100% voting.
