Tirunelveli: BJP candidates are scheduled to file their nominations on April 4, said BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran in Tirunelveli on Tuesday.Addressing reporters, he stated that except for the DMK, other parties are being denied permission for campaigning, leading to a situation where all parties must approach the court to obtain necessary approvals.

Nagenthran further said that election activities will intensify following the arrival of Piyush Goyal on Tuesday evening. He also said that Tirunelveli constituency was given to the AIADMK, based on the latter's request. "The number of constituencies is not what matters; it is the will of the people that counts," he added. While Tamil Nadu chief minister hailed the previous DMK manifesto as a "hero" and the current one as a "heroine," Nagenthran hit back, saying that although the last manifesto appeared like a hero, it ultimately turned out to be a "zero." He further quipped that the present manifesto is not a "heroine," but instead suggests the spread of "heroin" (drugs) across Tamil Nadu.He also claimed that Thirumavalavan has also been expressing dissatisfaction within the DMK alliance.
