80k AIADMK cadres will join DMK on Mar7: OPS

Madurai: Former chief minister O Panneerselvam has said that more than a lakh of his supporters, ‘80% of whom are AIADMK cadres,' will join DMK under chief minister M K Stalin's leadership in Madurai on Mar 7. Panneerselvam, who recently joined DMK, announced a massive merger on the day in Thirumangalam, after holding a ‘bhoomi pooja' for the event on Wednesday.He told reporters that those who are to join DMK were drawn by the chief minister's ability to embrace all sections of society, and they were doing so wholeheartedly. Expressing his deep gratitude to the CM, he said Stalin embraced them all with the affection of a mother welcoming them into the party. "Stalin delivered an excellent administration in the past five years with the noble intention of understanding and fulfilling the needs of the common people at the grassroots level," he said. To ensure the governance continues, people from all sections of Tamil Nadu were offering their moral support, especially at a time when the election is approaching, he said. OPS said the alliance led by Stalin will achieve a massive victory as there was widespread public desire for this ‘record-breaking administration' to return to power.
