Robbers attack TATA Electronics factory security guards near Krishnagiri, escape with valuables
KRISHNAGIRI: Unidentified people entered the TATA Electronics factory at Vanniyapuram in Krishnagiri district in the early hours of Saturday and attacked two security guards, tied them up and stole copper wires and other valuables from the premises. They robbed a gun of one of the guards. Security guards Gulbir Ahmed, 42, of Bihar and K Saravanan, 40, of Ullakurukkai village were on duty at a building on the TATA Electronics premises where airconditioning-related work is happening. Copper and other materials required for ACs are stored in the building, according to the Uddanapalli police.

On Saturday morning, passersby saw the guards who were tied up with ropes. "They removed the ropes, rescued the guards and informed the Uddanapalli police," said Krishnagiri district superintendent of police P Thangadurai. Police rushed to the spot and began investigations. Police were checking CCTV footage to identify the culprits. The Uddanapalli police registered a case.
