Tax evasion: Punjab GST conducts inspection

LUDHIANA: In a latest anti-evasion action being undertaken by state GST department, different teams of range - 1 are conducting inspections at two Ludhiana based firms one located in

Focal Point

and the other at

Gill Road

.


According to sources the action is being conducted on the basis of specific inputs received by department about GST evasion by these firms but exact details are not yet clear. Sources however also said that in this action which began Wednesday afternoon several incriminating documents have also been seized by department but officials however are refraining from divulging any details.

The action was being led by Assistant Commissioner State Tax

VP Singh

himself and as per information available the firm located at Focal Point is manufacturer of bicycle parts while the second firm which is based at Gill Road is into trading of bicycles. Sources meanwhile also revealed that some more firms are also under scanner of the department and their investigation too is likely.Other officials who are part of this action include ETOs Kamalpreet Singh, Lavjinder Singh, Deepak Ghai, Navjeet Singh, Sandeep Singh and others staff.
