Neighbour in pick-up van runs over 2 after petty dispute
Ludhiana: A 25-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman were brutally murdered at Balmiki Mohalla of Sahnewal on Wednesday night. They were run over by their neighbour after a petty dispute. The deceased were identified as Bhupinder Sahota alias Ritik, 25, an electrician, and Balwinder Kaur, 62.Based on the statement of Bhupinder's brother, Rohit, Sahnewal police registered an FIR under sections 103 (murder) and 61 (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS against Vishal; his father, Harinder Singh Goldy, residents of Balmiki Mohalla; Harinder's brother Jaswinder Singh of Chakk Saraye village in Doraha; their aide Jaspreet Singh; and about seven unidentified accomplices.

He then started his pick-up van and allegedly mowed him down. As Bhupinder lay injured, Balwinder Kaur, a neighbour, rushed forward to help him, but she too was run over by the vehicle. The pickup then crashed into a wall, after which the accused fled the spot. The victims were rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead.Inspector Varinderpal Singh Uppal, SHO of Sahnewal police station, said a case had been registered and the accused are currently on the run.
