IPFC to create common platform to help industry

Ludhiana: Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC), Punjab has now decided to create a common platform to help the city’s industry in availing various opportunities, IPFC head Gurpreet Singh Kahlon informed after conducting the steering committee meeting of the centre. Held at the office of Auto Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA) in Focal Point here, many prominent industrialists and representatives from various government departments were also a part of the meeting.Speaking on the occasion, Kahlon said, “During the meeting, the major points discussed include how micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) schemes must immediately be implemented so maximum industries and people could benefit from these. All steering committee members were also apprised that their prime focus should remain not only on applying for intellectual property rights, but also on how industries must have easy access to aspects such as incubation, design etc. We will also create an IPFC platform where all the renowned associations will come together to make work easy for all the industries and people who want to avail opportunities.”Kundan Lal, assistant director at the MSME ministry confirmed that all exhibitors availing subsidy under various MSME schemes are eligible to avail stalls at exhibitions, without paying any charges. Besides, he informed there were several other schemes beneficial to the MSME units, and urged the industrialists to contact their Partap Nagar office for help in availing these benefits.Others present at the meeting included Kulwant Singh of Machine Tools Association, Jasbir Singh Sokhi of Sewing Machine Technology Association, Badish Jindal of Federation of Punjab Small Industries’ Association, and Baljinder Singh Toor of Hand Tools Association. tnn
