Ludhiana: Division number 1 police arrested two men for assaulting a woman, and attacking her friends when they tried to save her, outside a dhaba on Thursday night. The accused also vandalised their SUV while fleeing.
The arrested men were identified as Ishwar Singh of Baba Sen Bhagat Colony and Kunal Mehra of Sardar Nagar of Shekhewal, both aged 22.
Some of their accomplices are still on the run.
In his complaint, Gurpreet Singh of Thareeke village said he along with his brother Lovepreet Singh and four female family friends had gone to a dhaba in the old city for dinner.
Gurpreet said when they were about to leave the place, the accused passed vulgar remarks and one of them pulled a woman out of the SUV and touched her inappropriately. When he and his brother intervened, the accused thrashed them too. Thereafter, the accused vandalised his SUV and snatched his gold chain, three gold rings and a silver bracelet before fleeing.
