Tragic road accident on Mogili ghat road claims seven lives in Chittoor district

TIRUPATI: Seven people were killed and more than 30 persons sustained injuries in a gory road mishap reported on the Mogili ghat road in Bangarupalyam mandal of Chittoor district on Friday.According to preliminary police investigation, two trucks rammed into an APSRTC bus heading to Bengaluru from Tirupati on the Mogili ghat road on Friday evening.The impact of the accident was so severe that seven persons died on the spot and 30 others sustained injuries. While four among the wounded who were critical were shifted to the government general hospital at Chittoor, others were admitted to the govt hospital at Palamaner.Chittoor district collector Sumit Kumar and SP VN Manikanta Chandol rushed to the accident spot to coordinate the rescue operations of the injured.Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu expressed anguish over the gory road mishap reported on the Mogili ghat road in which seven persons lost their lives on Friday. Naidu enquired with the Chittoor district officials on the measures being taken to immediately shift the injured to the hospitals. CM assured the families of the injured that all necessary measures will be taken to provide them with the best medical treatment to save their lives. Meanwhile, govt announced Rs.5 lakh ex-gratia to the deceased's families.
