Autopsy confirms two bullets killed Punjabi singer Inder Kaur

Ludhiana: Punjabi singer Yashinder Kaur, alias Inder Kaur (Mundian Kalan), was shot dead, with the autopsy confirming two bullet injuries — one piercing her chest and another lodged in her forehead.

The post-mortem was conducted by a board of doctors, including forensic experts Dr Karan, Dr Vishal Chopra and Dr Mandeep. Following the examination, the singer was cremated amid emotional scenes, with family members inconsolable and her grandmother reportedly fainting during the last rites.

Inder Kaur’s body was recovered from the Sirhind Canal near Neelon bridge on May 19, six days after she was allegedly kidnapped. Her car was also found submerged about a kilometre away.

Jamalpur police have registered a murder case against Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukhi Brar, his father Pritam Singh, and associates Ravinder Singh and Karamjit Singh. While Pritam, Ravinder and Karamjit have been arrested, the main accused Sukhwinder remains absconding.

Police said Sukhwinder was in a relationship with the victim despite being married and was allegedly pressuring her to marry him. When she refused, he allegedly shot her dead and dumped the body in the canal.

Investigators added that Sukhwinder travelled from Canada to India via Nepal and is suspected to have fled through the same route after the crime. The probe is ongoing.
