GORAKHPUR: "Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is winning with a huge margin. 'Is baar, 300 paar' (This time, we'll get beyond 300 seats)," said Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath in
Gorakhpur on Saturday while appealing people to vote for BJP as it worked for development and restored law and order in the state.
"Mafia used to encroach on the land of businessmen and poor alike. Now they (mafia) say they would sell vegetables but not take the land of others. We ended goonda tax and now there is no riot. We have development in one hand and bulldozer in the other," CM Yogi said, hinting at demolition of illegal properties owned by
mafia
.
"We created a fear-free atmosphere during five years. We did what we said. Shri Ram temple is being constructed in Ayodhya. Deepotsav is being held in Ayodhya, Rangotsav in
Mathura
, Vrindavan and Barsana. A grand Diwali was organized in Kashi. We'll continue bulldozing the mafia on coming to power again," he elaborated.
Attacking Samajwadi Party, he said: "SP government only made boundaries of 'kabristans' in the name of development while BJP government worked on roads, electricity, water, fertilizer plant,
AIIMS, sugar mills, colleges and universities. We worked for employment and beautified temples, dham."
Ridiculing the opposition at a meeting at Ramlila ground, he said: "They ask UP mein ka ba, but was the stage at Ramlila ground there five years earlier? Rajghat was beautified, Mukteshwar temple was beautified and road on Habbort Bandh was made, zoo and water sports came to Gorakhpur and preparation for Metro is under way. We worked for development of temples, dhams and they made boundaries for 'kabristans'."
"I have been fighting the mafia and mosquitoes (encephalitis) for the last 25 years and have controlled both," he said, adding, "Our government works for development in every area and we don't support rioters and mafia." Drawing a parallel wit previous government, he said, "Earlier, power supply didn't come and now it doesn't go. Earlier, power supply was given only on Eid and Bakrid, but was missing on Diwali and Holi."
