UPSNA announces 52 awards pending for four yrs in state
Lucknow: The UP Sangeet Natak Akademi (UPSNA) on Monday announced awards for the years 2021-2024 for artists contributing in music, dance, theatre and folk arts in the state. UPSNA chairman Prof Jayant Khot said the Akademi has announced 52 awards for all the four years together because it was not been able to do so due to unavoidable reasons in previous years. A function will be held soon for presentation, he added. Safdar Hashmi award to honour excellence in theatre direction and stagecraft has been given to Manoj Kumar Mishra (2021) , Rajesh Singh (2022), Ajay Kumar (2023) and Shubhdeep Raha (2024).BM Shah award for theatre art has been given to Satish Anand (2021), Kamal Jain (2022), Ravi Shankar Khare (2023) and Sanjay Mehta (2024)For 2021, Pt Deenanath Mishra has been awarded for classical singing, Shrikant Vaishya for folk singing, Prabhu Dayal for nakkara playing, Jawahar Lal for shehnai playing, Bhoomikeshwar Singh for theatre direction, Jagmohan Rawat for technical lighting, Rajkumar Srivastava for nautanki direction, Vijay Pandit for playwriting, Mohan Swaroop Bhatia for art promotion, Mala Hombal for bharatnatyam and Pratibha Sharma for folk dance.For 2022, Anand Kumar Malik has been awarded for classical singing, Madhuri Sharma for folk singing, Pt Anuj Mishra, Kathak, Shashikant Pathak for pakhawaj, Pankaj Kumar Srivastava for tabla,
