Put nation first, adopt simplicity, swadeshi, says UP BJP chief
Lucknow: UP BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary on Thursday appealed to party office-bearers, workers and all public representatives, as well as farmers, private institutions and the residents of the state, to prioritise national interest above all else and to adopt simplicity, thrift and the spirit of ‘Swadeshi’ in conduct and lifestyle.
Chaudhary said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for certain changes in lifestyles to effectively tackle global challenges. “This is not merely an appeal, but rather our collective responsibility to ensure a secure future for generations to come,” he said, appealing to all party workers and residents of the state to transform PM Modi's call into a mass movement, and to resolve to incorporate changes in their daily lives in alignment with the PM’s appeal.
He emphasised that nation-building is not achieved solely by govts, but through the active participation of the country’s citizens. “Let us all join hands to make an active contribution toward building a self-reliant, capable and developed India,” he said.
The state BJP president urged everyone to use petrol and diesel strictly according to necessity, and to promote public transport, carpooling and electric vehicles.
He called upon people to embrace the mantra of ‘Vocal for Local’ by prioritising indigenous products and those manufactured within India.
Furthermore, he urged citizens to avoid unnecessary foreign travel and wasteful expenditure, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the national economy.
Chaudhary urged farmers to promote natural farming in the national interest and to reduce their dependence on chemical fertilisers. Appealing to the public, he requested that edible oils and other resources be utilised judiciously so as to reduce the country’s reliance on imports.
