Man blackmailed by neighbour ends life

LUCKNOW: A 25-year-old Putan Nishad committed suicide by consuming poison on Thursday. Minutes before taking the extreme step, Putan uploaded an audio clip in which he accused a local youth, identified as Dinesh, of blackmailing him.
In his audio message, Putan alleged that Dinesh shot a video of him and his girlfriend and thereafter started blackmailing him, threatening to upload the video on social media.Putan allegedly paid him Rs 50,000, but Dinesh asked for more and thrashed him. The police have arrested Dinesh and are interrogating him.
Superintendent of police, Sultanpur, Vipin Mishra said that Dinesh was arrested under charges of abatement to suicide of Putan. “We have seized a mobile phone and sent it for forensic examination,” said the officer.
The police said that Putan was having an affairwith a girl and his neighbour knew about it.
