In Aliganj, Sunita Verma said she had booked a refill eight days ago. "We received the delivery authentication code (DAC) within two days, but the cylinder did not arrive for another five days," she said. Similar complaints emerged from Gomti Nagar, where Rajeev Srivastava said his family waited nearly a week after receiving the DAC. "The message said the cylinder would be delivered soon, but no one turned up," he said. Consumers alleged that despite receiving the DAC, introduced to streamline and confirm doorstep delivery, cylinders were not being supplied within the promised timeframe. In many cases, deliveries were delayed by five to seven days after the code was issued. Ravi Mishra from Balaganj said repeated follow-ups with agencies often yielded vague responses, with delivery staff citing shortage of vehicles as reasons for the delay. An agency owner in Lajpat Nagar, on condition of anonymity, said supply was not as frequent as earlier, while demand had increased due to delays in deliveries.
